webfact Posted January 6, 2015 Author Share Posted January 6, 2015 Hail storms expected in North this weekendBANGKOK, 6 January 2015 (NNT)- The Ministry of Interior has instructed provincial governors in 13 provinces in the North to be ready for hail storms, predicted for the end of this week.Following the latest weather forecast, Interior Minister General Anupong Paojinda said another cold front from China is expected to move toward the northern region .Provinces in the North have also been warned to brace for the high pressure system combined with the western wind.Provincial governors of Pitsnulok, Petchabun, Sukhothai, Tak, Uttaradit, Lampang, Lamphun, Mae Hongsorn, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Payao, Prae and Nan provinces have been ordered to be prepared for emergency situations.They have been urged to follow the safety procedure set by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation. Northern residents have also been told to maintain the conditions of their homes and refrain from using a mobile phone outdoors.
