Deposit a thai cheque abroad

Featured Replies

Is it possible to deposit a thai baht cheque directly into a foreign bank account, for example if you receive a cheque from a person in thailand (issued by a thai bank in THB), can you take it to Singapore and deposit it directly into your bank account there? I mean will the foreign bank accept it. Or must you deposit it into your bank account here and then transfer the money electronically. Long story but my would friend rather deppsit it directly overseas.

Yes, banks will accept cheques drawn in foreign currencies without a problem. It can take some time for the cheque to clear though, the funds won't be available until that happens.

The charges may be very high also.
