PHUKET: -- Water supplies to Irawadee Village and nearby, on Pracha-Uthit Rd in Rassada, will be cut off from 10 am on Thursday (on January 15).

The stoppage is to allow the Phuket Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) to connect the village to a new main water pipe at the Samkong intersection on the bypass road, installed as part of the work on the underpass.

Underpass Project Engineer Chalermpol Wongkiattikun, of the Department of Highways, explained that new water pipes had had to be laid because the old ones were in the way of the underpass excavations.

“It shouldn’t take long for the PWA to do the work. The pipes have already been laid and it’s just a matter of making the new connections. It may take a day to finish it.”
