Bus Fare Pattaya to Bangkok (Ekkamai) now 119 baht

Featured Replies

I see the bus fare from between Pattaya and Bangkok Ekkamai has now dropped from 124 baht down to 119 baht.

Yes, bit of a surprise yesterday. Fare to Sai Tai now 119 from 133 bt. Think it's the same for Morchit.

And it takes only 80 baht to refill my moto, down from 100.

I suppose the airport<>Jomtien bus will also reduce prices a little.

I wonder if it will get down to what I paid the first time...something like 73 baht at a 40:1 dollar/baht exchange rate.

Fantastic, now I can afford it toobiggrin.png

Yes fuel is much cheaper now, app 20%

Ah, my first trip was in 2004. 43 baht to 1 USD.

I suppose the airport<>Jomtien bus will also reduce prices a little.

If I was managing it, I wouldn't touch the prices and raise them when energy prices go back up.

That bus is so cheap, I bet it would still sell as well for 199 baht.

I'm sure it would too; I live near the terminus in Jomtien and the area is always full of farangs coming and going by bus.

But as far as I know the prices for all bus travel on regular routes are stipulated by the government per km. So if the cost of fuel changes significantly the government probably alters the amount that can be charged per km accordingly.

why lower the prices ?

this Bus is only being used by tourists, let them pay as much as possible whistling.gif

If you buy government bus tickets, the price shown on the ticket includes a heavy surchange for fuel I guess. it might be that the surcharges have been cut while the 'regular' fare has remained. So we pay less, similar to air fares.

The airport bus does seem to have gone from 134B to 130B, though confusingly they have only changed one mention of the price on their website and have left the other mention (on the same page) at the old price. Or maybe the site was always like that?
