Sorry I didn't tell you but earlier this week I indeed celebrated my birthday.

Not that I am a particular 'fan' or supporter of my own (or other) birthday(s) since I am suffering already for decades from a very rare disease: the Birthday Syndrome :D

I invented that disease myself, I suppose, because I really hate the day I was born.

WHY?

Well, My mother decided to give birth to me on HER birthday..... :D

WOW, that's nice I hear you thinking....

NO, it's not, because the whole bunch of Aunties and Uncles (carrying all the ugly babies they 'created' themselves; selfish people!) always came to say "Happy Birthay" to my Mom but forgot about me...

Can you imagine me, a small boy, about 4 or 5 years old, sitting in a corner of the livingroom, watching all those uncles and aunties, coming in the same bl__dy room, carrying all kinds of presents with them.....

But not for me..... :D

"Oh...darling, we are so sorry, but PROMISE-PROMISE....next time we come over, we'll bring YOU a nice present as well, ok?"....hmmmm...I just nodded and said, half-crying "OK, Auntie/Uncle Mary and John"

Well....they're all dead by now and I'm still waiting for a present. Bl__dy selfish non-thinking terrible family!

I HATE MY BIRTHDAY

But, my lovely wife never forgets my birthday and said: "darling let's go out tonight and have a nice dinner somewhere (on Samui!).

OK, why not? So I invited a Swedish friend of mine as well (who invited 2 other Swedish friends of his....without consulting me first :D ) but I'm not easy to shock so I said: "OK, let's have a nice dinner at Poppies....hmmmmm!

We waited for 1 1/2 hour for those 2 since the Gentleman had to have his Kidneys 'laundered' with a special fluid (every 4 hours).

So we started ordering our (delicious) food and by the time we started eating, they came in...

All good so far.

And than, coming home on the northern-western part of Samui, on our lovely small quiet park with some villa's I really had the surprise of my holiday-birthday........

Entering the bedroom I said to my wife: "darling, WHY do we have such a mess in the bedroom?

:D You should have seen her face :D and YES: WE HAD A VISITOR...A BURGLAR...A BREAK-IN GUY who was so excited about my birthday that he decided to 'pay me a long-awaited-visit'.

I am not quite sure if he was one of those ugly babies in the old days but he certainly was a SOB!!!

Anyway, he took quite a long time going thru all suitcases, clothes and other places in the house but the main thing I am so f_kcing annoyed about is the fact that he stole my nice Italian sunglasses I just bought (in June) before we left for our long trip. :o

Also: the B_stard left his WET T-shirt in MY suitcase :D and took 1 of mine; he was quite nervous, apparently, that's why the T-shirt was still wet when we came home.

Anyway, our Swedish friend who was staying in the same house had most of the damage. The guy stole his expensive hand-luggage as well as money, lots of sets of keys, a few (copy) Rolexwatches, a mobile-pone and some other items.

Total damages: 81.000 Baht.

Anyway, this all happened at about 23.30 hrs and it took some time before the Police came (5 Guys!!!).

They left at 02.30 hrs....... :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY...if it's yours, soon!

Sorry about that fella.

"Always look on the bright side of life, dada, dada, dadadadadada............." :D

My best mates brother dropped dead of a heart attack this morning, after his mother had rung him at work and, he said he was fine. Within an hour he was dead. :o

Repeat the above song. It works for me at the mo.

I'm not trying to make light of your situation LP. :D Being robbed is a bag of <deleted>.

Commiserations LaoPo. It is good that you are all safe and that you have not lost too much stuff. Having your home invaded in this way can be quite distressing, so it is good that have been able to vent a bit of anger here as well as inject a bit of humour into the situation.

Happy birthday Laopo.Sorry to hrear about your bad night. But as long as you are healthy mate that's the main thing.

Happy Birthday Laopo, never mind, its just stuff.

The worst part is the feeling of having your privacy invaded. You have my commiserations, and best wishes for the coming year. Try to think of it this way, it started out crap, maybe it will get better from here on :o

:D Thank you all, and YES we'll keep on smiling and YES it's just stuff.

I was a bit ironic about the whole thing, so no problems

Forgot to tell you that the 'invader' missed the brandnew laptop of my wife; I stuffed it away in such a simple place that he didn't look...fortunate for us.

Also it's hard to understand HOW they think.....for instance:

he took a silver necklace from my wife but took off the beautiul stone hanging on it???? :o

So if you see a guy on a RED motobike with the plate-nr: 948 (sorry we missed the Thai letters), wearing PERSOL sunglasses and a SILVER necklace as well as my BLACK T-shirt...call the Police and have him arrested, ok? :D
