Does anyone know where in Bangkok (preferably in the Minburi/Khannayao area) where I can buy shelving similar to this?

HomePro has something similar, but it's too small. Ideally I want a shelf width of around 1.7m and a depth of at least 50 cm.

Thanks.

Couple of questions, does it need to be like this or can it be wall mounted?

What sort of weight will it be holding?

Your width of 1.7m may well be a problem.

Why not but two with a width of 1m each and join together?

Try Thai Watsadu at the MinBuri end of Ram, its up beside Rom Klao.

The only other thing I can suggest is buy the framework and go to a local woodstore and have them cut you some wood to length, mai at (plywood) should do.

Wall mounted isn't really an option since it'll be against a glass window.

The weight isn't enormous. It's for boxes containing a few hundred books that my partner and I have acquired over the years but are reluctant to throw away.

Dexion in Australia offers stuff that's pretty much ideal, but doesn't seem to have a distributor here for the more domestic stuff - only the heavy-duty industrial stuff.

I'm not familiar with Thai Watsuda, but it's not too far away, so I'll give it a shot.

Thanks.

Almost any of the metal stock suppliers will have a Dexion-like material along with the bolts and corner braces. Combine with decent 3/8" ply and you're good to go.

It's ridiculously cheap, take pictures of what you want with you.

Books are a lot heavier than one may think.

Not sure about Thai watsadu, but just got myself 6 of the angled bars ,5 mtr each for about 500B each.

A bag with the right nuts bolts etc. was 100 Baht.

Got mine in a little building shop on Nimit Mai .

Also you will need the fitting rubber footing. This I found on Chaktuchack Minburi. Sure they have it also on Talat Min.

That's the stuff I mean Stefan ^^^ although I paid significantly less than 500 Baht a piece, nearer 100 for 3m lengths.

To be truthfull on reflection I think I paid less too. I bought same time some other steel etc. and tossed the bill. Also I think those come in different sickness, according to the intended load. Mine are stamped AAA18.
