Danish man charged with sex with minors in Philippines

CEBU: -- Police investigators have gathered more evidence against a 54-year-old Danish man who was arrested earlier in January on charges of sex with minors. The man charged with rape could face life imprisonment, if convicted, the prosecutor’s office told Danish newspaper, BT.

The 54-year-old Dane was arrested early morning on January 20 in his apartment while he was engaged in a sex acts with two girls aged 11 and 12. The girls had been taken from their homes along with a female pimp and he probably had paid the parents to abuse the girls. This is not unusual in some of the poorest countries like the Philippines.

A third girl – a 12-year-old – had also previously been sexually assaulted by the Dane reported to police what was happening.

At first, the man was charged with human trafficking and child abuse. A third charge of sexual relations with minors has now been raised to charge of rape.

The Dane was being held in prison in Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center without bail. It is a maximum security prison with room for 1,600 particularly dangerous prisoners. The accused will remain there until the case was filed with the court on February 23.

Minors rescued from ‘pimp’

CEBU, Philippines – Police rescued two minor siblings and arrested a Danish national and a suspected pimp in an anti-human trafficking operation yesterday dawn in Sitio Mansanitas, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

Those nabbed were Danish national, resident of Sitio Orel, Barangay, Mandaue City.

The Regional Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force and the Women's Desk of Mandaue City Police Office carried out the operation at Jacobsen's house.

Both suspects were brought to MCPO for detention.

Police said Tortosa allegedly recruited and fetched the siblings, who were girls aged 11 and 12, from their house in Sitio Orel to a place in Tisa, to be introduced to a certain foreigner named Nick.

When the parents came to look for the children, a 12-year-old neighbor, who was also allegedly pimped earlier by Tortosa to Jacobsen, informed the police of their whereabouts.

At around 2:30 a.m., the joint team then conducted the operation at the rented house of the suspects in Barangay Tisa where the 12-year-old neighbor positively identified the suspects.

Police said they also saw the minors sniffing an elastomeric sealant.

Police immediately arrested Jacobsen and Tortosa and also took custody of the two minor siblings. They were able to seize from the suspects four pieces of sealant, a cellular phone and some SIM packs and micro SD cards.

Both suspects are now detained at Subangdaku Police Station pending the filing of cases for violation of Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.

I wonder if the Cebu prison is like the US where child molesters are hated even by the otherwise worst of criminals. They have to segregate them or they could well be killed.

Wonder if this guy had any sort of record from back home? Just wish there was a way to keep scumbags like this out of countries like the PI, Thailand, Cambodia, etc. Seriously a threat to the community.

Agreed. However, the problem isn't only the sick, twisted scumbag. It takes parents and the pimps to abuse the kids as well. IMHO, they too should also be forced to purchase a long train ride.
