A suspect in noodle shop's fatal attack re-enacts crime

28-1-2558-14-42-21-wpcf_728x410.jpg

BANGKOK: -- A teenaged suspect allegedly involved in the murder of a noodle vendor’s son in Nakhon Pathom’s Nakhon Chaisri district was this morning escorted by police to the crime scene for re-enactment of the crime.

The 16-year old student whose name was withheld because he is still a minor admitted he was among a group of some 20 people who went to the victim’s noodle shop but he denied that he was involved in the shooting of the victim.

He said that the group went to see the victim after the latter was accused of assaulting one of them. He also told police that there were two senior students among the group whom he didn’t know personally.

The suspect blamed the two senior students for shooting to death the victim who was shot three times.

The case attracted public interest as it was regarded as blatant as the assailants allegedly showed no respect or fear for the law. It was reported that they showed up at the noodle shop three times and each time some of them threw pingpong bombs at the shop before the fourth appearance when gunshots were fired.

20 of them?

Did they suddenly start feeling insecure?

Are these the future coward and criminal citizens of Thailand?

RIP, young man, hope you find a better world up there.

hardly a day goes by without some thai youth killing others for reasons only know to themselves. was it always like this or is it just more likely to get into the farang media now.

how brave these heroes are, a student had a fight with another student (presume one on one) and won so 20 of the losers mates go and shoot him, this about sums up male thainess thats for sure. Maybe if the courts actually hit them with severe jail time and their families with big fines they might think twice before doing it but when they are given a slap on the wrist and a piddly fine how are they supposed to ever have any fear of the law.

All about face. What a wonderful culture.

Can't disclose his name because he's a minor but can parade him in public to re-enact a crime he may or may not have committed?

Hey, where's the finger pointing? What kind of report is this anyway?

You may have missed the bit where he admitted he was part of the group that went to the shop looking for the dead youth. Whether he was the shooter is immaterial, he is guilty, as is anybody else committing a crime in company where a murder is committed.

All about face. What a wonderful culture.

The teachings that some outwardly profess to follow are mere covers for dark and hateful hearts. All the offerings and posturing means nothing when violence replaces peace, love and tolerance.

When I heard & read about this story a few days ago, it was the mother of the student that was shot to death, not the student.

I just asked my other half, and she also said it was the mother. Would be nice if the media could clarify this story so we know what actually did happen.

Well isn't that the whole point? He admits he went with the 20 strong gang but that doesn't make him guilty of anything. I'm sure he went with the intention of hurting this person, but at the same time, he could have easily have just been going for moral support or to simply talk. It's not what you know, it's what you can prove.

Anyway, this wasn't my point. My point is - what's the point of keeping his identity confidential if you're just going to parade him in public?

"Whether he was the shooter is immaterial, he is guilty, as is anybody else committing a crime in company where a murder is committed" Good lord! I wouldn't want to have been a speeding driver who drove past as the murder was being committed.

FBI and Scotland yard should use Thai police technique. All criminal confess and re-enact their crime right awaycheesy.gifcheesy.gif

It could certainly happen under English law according to the principle of common criminal purpose "joint enterprise".

There was a very famous case where a criminal named Derek Bentley was hanged for a murder of a policeman during a robbery when the gun was fired by another person, Chris Craig.

Also watched a TV program recently where a guy was found guilty of murder in the UK when he merely drove the car to a take-away pizza shop where one of his passengers shot dead a guy waiting to pick up a pizza. He wasn't even at the scene of the crime but waiting outside in the getaway car.

Not sure if the same concept exists in Thai law, though.

you shouldn't fear the law you should respect it and respect have to be earned...so much about the law here..

Nope, they're always a sort of "insecure." Made the mistake to show my new colleague the city a couple of years ago, not even knowing that it was Chinese New Year.

When a guy approached me and said " <deleted> you" to me, looking for a fight, I could still manage my temper. But when he said " <deleted> your mother" I couldn't resist, but failed to hit his chin at the right point for a nice blackout.

Even considering that I was handicapped after a motorcycle accident, where I could hardly walk, five others came to "help him." Six against one? Normal here.

What they left was a bloody mess. A broken nose, two broken ribs, and quite a few other serious injuries taught me to never ever go for a fight with a Thai/Chinese guy again.

Glad that I had a metal glasses case in my bag around my stomach, as they also tried to castrate me with their legs.

My glasses case was as flat as their brains, when the cops finally showed up and they had to stop.

Can you call that the Thainess, almost everybody's talking about?

It was like that before. A young boy in Sisaket got beaten to death by four guys, just because the poor boy was the former lover of the girl, who took the five killers ( one of them her new lover) to the boarding school, then climbed over the wall with weapons like a machete.

The girl called the boy's name and when he came down the stairs of a building on campus, they bestially killed him. He was only 16 years old.

Then you start to ask some serious questions, why it is as it is.

They are not even allowed to ask their teachers questions at school, but obviously do not have a problem to kill somebody because of a bitchy 15 year old girl?

Which finally leads me to my own personal conclusion that the system is creating such cool guys.

The murderers deserve what's coming. The rest deserve this, as do their parents;

For some unknown reason these school battles go on all over the country.

That is why the Thais were never asked for support in any action in Vietnam. None of the coalition trusted them, when you needed back up you called in the South Koreans ! But the Thais were the biggest customers for duty free cigarettes and booze at the American PX

second that - I have never seen bigger Cowards than in LOS. If you stand one to one they just lower their eyes but be careful of not getting a knife in your back

Thais - Cowards of Asia

Oh that's cute. Everybody's big and tough but when the police comes and it's time to take responsibility for taking a man's life, suddenly the honeys don't seem so tough.

So the other 19 have "connections" in the right places?
