Just wondering if it is possible to hire a car in Kalasin? I have only been able to find cars at Khon Kaen airport. Heading up in a couple of weeks. Alternatively, can anyone recommend a good driver in the area? Any advice greatly appreciated

Having lived in Kalasin 13+ years I have never seen nor heard of anywhere to Rent a Car in the Kalasin area... I even asked several years ago at the Toyota Dealership if they offered such or knew of anywhere that did when having my vehicle repaired and having to be without it for 3 days...

I think that your best bet would be the Big Company's at the Khon Kaen airport, or the smaller shops around the Pullman Hotel in Khon Kaen... As to a driver, I have twice (although years ago) found a driver by asking at the Rim Pao Hotel in Kalasin... Back then I paid him 400 baht per day...

Thanks pianoman. Will certainly try the Rim Pao and also the hotel I will be staying at. Plenty of options in Khon Kaen from what I have found. There is a company that will deliver a car to Kakasin from Khon Kaen for 1500 baht each way, which I think sounds excessive.

Google fast car hire,there a uk company and very good.You can book a car through them cheaper than what they charge at the airport

Thanks Steve-checked them out. They will actually drop off and pick up in Kalasin, which suits me perfectly.

Woohoo, Looking like a ThaiVisa party in Kalasin at this Rate! I'm flying to Khon Kaen tomorrow then heading over to Kalasin for the next couple of weeks.

Guys - I am heading to Huai Mek for 3/4 days flying into Khon Kaen to see my partners family.  I am looking to hire a car but do not use credit cards.  Suggestions?
