Jonathan Fairfield
Lengthy delays for the launch of 4G in Thailand If you were looking forward to soon being able to use faster, more reliable 4G mobile internet in Thailand then it looks like most of us could be using 3G for the foreseeable future. Despite it being announced that 4G in Thailand would be ready this year, it is being reported that the whole project could be delayed. According to the Bangkok Post, the proposed auctions for 4G licenses, which were due to take place in April, may now be put on hold due to new laws relating to Thailand’s proposed ‘digital economy’ not yet being formulated. Whilst a delay in the launch of 4G in Thailand is perhaps not all that surprising, what is a concern is that if the new digital economy laws are not enacted by April, 4G might actually not be available in Thailand for sometime to come. Popular Post Fiddlesticks
This is a shock! The launch date for something in Thailand is delayed! ! ! ! ! ! Can ANYONE think of a time or an event when anything in Thailand was completed on time? Can anyone think of a time when an appointment with a Thai was on time? I can not believe that anyone would actually give any credence to schedules or deliverables here in Thailand. I expect we will see 4G here in Thailand when the developed world is up and running on 8G or whatever is the equivalent.

daveAustin
Does the current government actually want it? Think they'd be happier going agrarian. Btw, they've got 4G in Cam even.
gk10002000
Sorry but this should be far from being an important thing to do. Basic cell phones with voice and text really do work pretty well. All the constant chat, sending messages, taking pictures and sending videos, browsing the internet via the cell towers, etc. All that does is suck money out of the average person to the point where they get used to it. Thailand
They need to talk to someone who knows how to make money out of telecommunications. Any suggestions?
ikke
The actual 3G coverage is still not 50% of the country, so please take care full coverage first and after that you might start thinking about 4G.
