You might try talking to some of the people who put parties on on Koh P--the black moon and half moon run all night every month. I believe there is a special permit you must apply for --sorry dont' know the real name, I've always just called it the "party permit". Applied for at the amphur, so you might just try calling them and asking.

The Police went round the bars the night previously advising owners that they were to shut at midnight on the 21st. - The reason given: "The party on the beach is to raise money for the new Police Station in Lamai" (no mention of helping schools...)

That's what I've also heard from Thai friends of mine.Bear in mind Fusion is owned by an ex Samui police chief.Makes sense?

say the night was put on by Fusion? i'd imagine they'd be able to have the other bars close early.......if you knowhattamean!
