Hi everybody ,

I use to download movies or/and TV series with Micro-Torrent or BitTorrent ;

since the end of december I had never a problem with these programs;

but since the beginning of this year it's nearly impossible to download anything ;

Is it a problem with Thai Internet ?

or with my configuration;?

How to know which port(s) I have to use ?

I have a 3BB conection by WiFi ;

an antenna in my garden in direction to a huge antenna in the countryside ;

a test a few second ago

Last Result:
Download Speed: 6920 kbps (865 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 296 kbps (37 KB/sec transfer rate)

Don't what to do;

Thanks in advance.

Take a look at www.portforward.com

It has step by step instructions for setting up a range of routers for different programs.

But when he use 3bb wifi he can't configure the router. So, there is not a lot to do. I use 3bb over land-line. Works perfect.

It wouldn't me surprise if 3bb had limited their access for torrent. Look here;

** WiFi doesn't suit for Bit Torrent usage because it 'll impact to the stability of your usage and overall system.

OP, you say you're using 3BB WiFi, but most likely you're using a Wireless Broadband Point-to-Point Internet Connection, similar to TOT WiNET or AIS AirNet.

If so, how long have you had this service, and has your torrent client worked on this service before? What's changed recently?

I think you're missing a few electronic pieces in your pictures.

As the Linksys WRT-54G pictured has both antennas attached then it's just being used as a private WiFi Access Point to provide WiFi service to your home devices.

The blue Ethernet cable will run to a small block where power gets injected (Power over Ethernet) for the high-gain antenna / transceiver / router / Ethernet package sitting atop the pole outside. The unit atop the pole is most likely a Point-to-Point Wireless Ethernet Radio Link connecting to a tower where the 'service' is shared with a few other similar users like yourself.

Your monthly 'bill' should name the type of service you're subscribed. Might even mention the level of service and speeds.

As your topic suggests, Torrent being a P2P wants to have open ports so data can flow both ways.

I asked if anything 'happened' or 'changed' between the time it was working and now (not working) ... power outages, cable changes, new software, Antivirus update, etc.

If it worked before, it should be able to work again (once you find what changed). Something is now preventing the open ports from working.

What IP address is your PC getting?

What PUBLIC IP address are you being issued? [ http://www.whatismyip.com / http://www.whatsmyip.org ]

If your PUBLIC IP address is in the 100.64.0.0/10 block ( 100.64.0.0 – 100.127.255.255 ) then you'll have major issues with P2P connections as this is the range reserved for ISPs deploying Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CG-NAT) where hundreds or thousands of network customers SHARE a common Internet facing IP address and you can't create open ports over the network.

Hopefully the issue is just one of 'something locally changed' and you can find it and fix it.

Just get yourself a seedbox or vps that allow torrents.

Download torrents to your mini vps/seedbox server.

Then download to your computer from that server. No more problems with torrent blocking.

We have the answer here on another post

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/724597-3bb-blocking-ports/

And the photo bofhman has put in his answer - post n* 9 is it's final;

3BB blocks Torrents 1zgarz5.gif

And TOT doesn't do;licklips.gif

I will ask the man who has installed internet in my home if it's possible to migrat from 3BB to TOT

It's not that clear. Obviously, 3bb is blocking ports. For instance. I did forward the port 3283 to my notebook. Port 3283 is the standard port for remote desktop control. Well, this worked fine. But, when i want forward another port like 5901 or whatever it do not work.

You all can check here if a specific port is open; http://www.portchecktool.com/?utm_source=DUC&utm_medium=duc-click&utm_campaign=duc-WINDOWS

On the flipside, my utorrent client is working very well, even without forwarding a port, but enable UPnP on the client and on the router.

3bb tried to call me today morning three times. But it was to early. I report here if there will be a outcome.

The guy from 3bb called me again. I gave him access via Teamviewer. He recognized the same issue. We spoke about one hour. I think he have good skills. Then he told me, he will investigate more about it and would get back to me. Now, it works. I have no idea what was the problem. But all the ports i open / forward, are working.

Well, whatever caused the problem, it's solved now. I only can say to other users, don't give up. Call your provider.

Btw; he also confirmed that the model Huawei HG531 is not able to use no-ip dns host. Well, for that i installed their dns client.
