Currently on Multi Entry Education Visa, Ends in May, Options to continue?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am currently on a multi entry education visa, which my last 3 months will end in may. I am wondering what options I have to continue my stay here, I have been told I can enrol in an education course to lean thai and not have to make any visa runs for 12 months, can I seemlessly go from mutli entry visa and then jump into this new education one that doesnt involve leaving the country every 3 months?

I was thinking I was going to have to go back to Australia after the multi entry runs out and I was going to have to reapply for another visa (same one as I have now year long multi entry) however I would prefer any options that didnt involve a flight back to australia. Any help much appreciated

If you enroll in a language course you have to do an extension every 90 days and then after a year go out for a new non-ed visa.

You should be able to enroll in a school at the beginning of any of you 90 day entries and then apply for extension near it's end. You need to show some attendance in classes in order to apply for an extension.

There is lot of things going on a the moment with getting the 90 day extensions at the moment. Hopefully things will settle down in a month or two.

Are you aware you can do an entry just before the enter before date on your visa and get another 90 days out of it.

Thanks ubonjoe, so basically I can do a visa run right before my mutli entry expires so I am basically getting 15 months instead of 12 months, and then when I re-enter for my last 90 days I should find a school and enrol? Does the school have anything to do with the visa? Or do they just provide attendance record or soemthing like that?

As long as you do a border run for a new entry on or before the enter before date you will get another 90 day entry getting a total stay of 15 months from the visa.

I suggest you enroll in a school just before you do your last entry so you have almost 90 days of study before you apply for the extension.

The school has to get documents from the Ministry of Education and supply other documents to apply for the 90 day extension.

Most Schools offer a 3 year Thai Language course, some offer 5 years, check with your school on how long they offer

When it's time for your new Ed Visa get the required paperwork from your School and apply for the new one, I have heard Vietenne (sp?) is friendly and you will be able to find a "visa run" company that will transport you there and back with a google search

You will get 90 days then it will be extended every 90 days at your local Immigration with the required paperwork from your School
