Obtaining Residency Certificate. Anything new 2015?

Featured Replies

I will have to renew my driving licence this month [after 5 years].

There is a good thread regarding the Department of Land Transport pinned on ThaiVisa...........thanks guys.

But the first stop is the Jomptien Immigration for the "Residency Certificate".

Do I need anything other than my passport + photocopies & photo ?

Do I have to attend in person or can wifee do it?

Do they still look for a " fee" or has that been discouraged with new management?

PS

This is my third renewal and sadly I can't remember what I did previously.sad.png

You should to go in person. Pics and copies can be do at the local shop. 200 bt fee is still cashed.

Take the wife with you and get her to politely refuse to pay the bribe.

So that they will refuse to issue the certificate, and maybe not so politely.

I'm all ears to know how it ends.

Thanks for the replies, I've always delegated all the official stuff here in LOS to my Thai wife.

So far no problems and they always seem to be glad when she leaves.smile.png

to get the certificate

you need

copy of your lease

copy of the landlords ID card signed

copy of Taam Bien Baan signed

Of course if ur wife owns ur home she can sign everything

Phuket Its free

I can't speak for Jomtien, but at Bangkok last month, they made a big deal of me needing to have brought my current 90-day reporting slip, which I don't normally carry in my passport.

Not in Jomtien. Just a rental receipt is enough.
