The gf and I are moving from Chiang Mai to Siem Reap. Will fly Lion Air from CM to BKK. Great ticket price: 1175 baht.

The catch? Any luggage above 15 kg check-in and 7 kg carry-on is charged at 400 baht/kg.

So, in effect, the cheap ticket becomes damn expensive. Since we will take a bus from Ekami to Cambodia border, we'd like to ship 40 kg from CM to BKK, pick it up there and take overland on bus.

Can anyone tell me of fast dependable shipping of said luggage (about 40KG) from CM to Bangkok for a whole lot than 400 baht/kg?

That's the catch with Lion. With AA you could have paid for extra kilos. I would consider canceling and going AA or bussing it down. Alternatively, stay in a hotel in Bangkok and post it to yourself couple days before.

Why don't you offer someone a free overnight bus ticket to BKK in return for taking your luggage down?
