My Missus is regularly asked by 'non-bar' Thai women "how did you meet your foreign man"? Their next question is normally "does he have any single friends". There's still a belief in the myth that foreign men make better husbands, reinforced by the stirling efforts of most Thai husbands to have multiple affairs. These questions are not from HiSo heiresses, but from shop workers, nurses, bank assistants etc, and they're just looking for a decent man to share their life with. Of course, like women everywhere, they'd prefer a man who has the means to provide a decent life. As I'm clearly older than my Missus, I don't think age is a major concern, although I'm in reasonable shape, but she's a 10 while I must be around a 5 on a good day. I think having Thai friends would be the ideal way to meet a good woman, and if your social circle is all falang men, I doubt any 'good girl' would have the confidence to speak with you.
