PATTAYA: -- Late on Saturday Night, Pattaya Police arrested a 19 year old man who failed to stop at a Police checkpoint and was later found to be carrying an unlicensed firearm.

The incident began in South Pattaya just after 11pm when the motorbike and its driver sped through the checkpoint which led to a short chase through the streets until the man was stopped inside Soi Sukhumvit 40/2.

Khun Pakorn was taken to Pattaya Police Station along with the weapon which he claimed to have purchased from a friend in Udon Thani Province in the North-east of Thailand for 1,500 Baht.

Initially he claimed he was taking the unloaded weapon to his Brother on Pattaya Beach but later changed his story and claimed he was carrying it for his own protection.

"Initially he claimed he was taking the unloaded weapon to his Brother on Pattaya Beach but later changed his story and claimed he was carrying it for his own protection" ........as he suddenly realised he did not actually have a brother!!

The irony is as if it makes any difference where he was going or to whom he was going to give it to.

Like drug dealers claiming to deal because they do not have a job, as if they would be let go or something.
