February 18, 201511 yr This barrier work was carried out about 4 or 5 weeks ago at Thonglor BTS designed to stop motorbikes using the pavement. All well and good unless you happen to be in a wheelchair. Maybe a prayer for the use of your legs for a minute could be taken. Otherwise its 3 lanes of fast moving Sukhumvit traffic or 3 lanes of traffic jams to negotiate, or there's always the diversion. But in the eyes of the BMA if you are in a wheelchair you probably don't count anyway. Good work boys and girls.
February 18, 201511 yr i reckon a wheel chair could fit through there if you would care to nip down with your tape and confirm my theory
February 18, 201511 yr who is this Devine you speak of? a search on google turned up that it is a fairly common irish surname
February 18, 201511 yr Author No way a wheelchair can fit. A person standing can just about get thru without touching the sides And those two were right skinny little fellas Edited February 18, 201511 yr by berybert
February 18, 201511 yr There's room for motorbikes too. What bunch of cowboys made this and how much was it actually billed to the tax payers? Besides a <deleted> paint job, the posts aren't even the same height or diameters.
February 18, 201511 yr All this will do is stop the push wagon fruit seller types - not motorbikes. Meanwhile over on asoke the motorbike types are busy parking their scooters on the side walk much like one would park their cars in an outdoor mall side by side - taking up much space in the process. Come on BMA, do something about it! and then i woke up...

Meanwhile over on asoke the motorbike types are busy parking their scooters on the side walk much like one would park their cars in an outdoor mall side by side - taking up much space in the process. Come on BMA, do something about it! and then i woke up... Some more motorbike parking would help. One should increase the number of motorbikes and decrease the number of cars for better traffic flow. I hate it when I go to Mochit (usually take the BTS there and go into the city, sometimes go all the way to the center on the bike) when I cant even park my bike while there is so much room for cars. Every meter you add for a bike can store far more bikes as cars. Most shopping centers its easy to park you bike (bit harder on the big one) but still quite ok and usually better as parking a car. I would NEVER go against traffic.. or drive on the sidewalk.. no matter how long I have been here I havent gone native like that. On the bright side today i went to the market on the small bike (easier to park and go) and 90% of the people on bikes were wearing helmets. Just some students and and a stupid foreigner without. (and most passengers on motorbike taxis)
