  • Oh don't be so apologist - most people are commenting on his poor attitude. Didn't realize that being a Tool is a form of racism, although I can see it as some form of disability.

Pleased to say I don't.

Kudos to the cops, though I do wish they'd do a better job of searching those they take into custody.

oz accent

Ah yes another quality expat

anyone know him

Yeah, he is the poster boy for far too many expats that come to Thailand to drink the rest of their miserable lives away. Seen quite a few unfortunately. I know we complain a lot about the fool, drunken Thai drivers but sad to say there are enough fool expat drivers who try to compete with the Thai for the "Idiot" crown. I just hope they lock this fool up for a while and then fine the crap out of him though he will probably be back on his favorite bar stool in a day or two.

And for those that complain about 'quality' Chinese tourists, let's be careful not to throw stones too hard at the glass house!

What a miserable pig.

He deserves a baton across his big mouth.

oz accent

Sounds British to me.

"Ronny" there, if he had the two kids in the back of that pickup, needs to have a serious word with himself.

Of course, we don't know the whole story but regardless, that was totally out of order.

...anymore background to this story? How did they know he was drunk? Did he run away from a checkpoint? Or hit something?

Sure was a lot of cops...and a TPV, so I'm guessing Pattaya?

If he is drunk and has kids in the car, I really hope that the punishment is meaningful.

I find that very disturbing.

oz accent

Nope. British.

I presume as Dlock say's this was in charming Pattaya,i hope Costas watches it,maybe it will change his mind about his proposed move there.

Maybe it is Costas and he has been blagging the Greek angle :)

I agree 100% so many expats here that think they can drink and drive as they THINK they can drive drunk better as a Thai sober (whatever they say to justify it for themselves). I hope they deport the guy.. drinking and driving brings others in dangers. I am all for free substance use (whatever drug you like alcohol included) but don't drive when your under the influence.

As for drinking their life away that is their choice and not my concern.. up to them. Everyone is free do as he pleases as long as he / she does not endanger / bother others.

Isn't that yingluck's bodyguard?

I though the police treated him more than fair. Hats off to the cops who kept there cool.

Londoner, and a very sad one at that who needs to be gagged. I don't think the police would've be so civil had he been a raving Thai male.

wow, if he'd have behaved like that where I'm from the police would have battered him!

Almost every expat I know, drinks and drives.

Almost every expat I know, drinks and drives.

Are you talking about alcohol... or just shocking people and then later saying you mean normal drinks..

Almost every expat I know, drinks and drives.

Some nice friends you got there.

Nobody I know here would do so.

wow, if he'd have behaved like that where I'm from the police would have battered him!

Same in America. He would have got the stun gun or maybe pepper sprayed when he first resisted.

Almost every expat I know, drinks and drives.

You must hang around with some class people in nice areas.

I have lived in Thailand for over 17 years and I can't think of any expats that I know who would drink and drive.

unless he was black..

He's lucky he didn't get a bashing after lashing out on one of the police. Thought they were very considerate all being said. I really couldn't pick the accent, initially thought it was Oz, but then maybe London - difficult as he was shouting incoherently.

I dont see any better driving when they are sober

anyone that drinks and drives deserve to be locked up, this idiot needs to lose his right to stay here with this attitude. Thought he was aussie for a bit but the underlying accent gives him away as not aussie thank god, they have enough idiots like this over there, dont need them here too.

English is the only acceptable language anywhere on ThaiVisa including Classifieds, except within the Thai language forum, where of course using Thai is allowed.
