Although some may be confused, the topic is not about Isaan people or red-shirts. The topic is about the Thai domestic water buffaloe aka Bubalus bubalis of the genus bovines

I would suggest it is highly naive to think that the buffalo isn't intrinsically interwoven with the culture and people of Issan and thus the Red Shirts and therefore one would have to conclude that this "gift" is aimed primarily at enhancing the current administration's image in that region.

Do you have figures showing how those 840,064 buffaloes are spread over Thailand?

A sign of someone without an argument is to ask for stats.

So, no stats? Maybe most water buffaloes in the Central Plains, but the 'gift' aimed at Isaan and 'red-shirt' region? Allegedly that is.

Yearly water buffaloe race in Chonburi, that's the heart of Isaan ? Water buffaloes bathing in the Pai river to cool off, that's Isaan ?

I am sorry, but as wasted cash goes this is the winner. At least the rice scheme bought rice. But5 billion to save buffaloes. Every lost Scandinavian just got out of one payment free.

  • Who gets this money?

Now you are just showing you lack of grasp on this matter - the fact that buffaloes are and intrinsic part of Issan culture has nothing to do with numbers. of course if there were LESS there is would be more welcome??

Give up on numbers and stats and take a long, critical look at the issues.

Well, if the water buffaloe is or has become an ingrained and intrinsic part of Isaan culture, but out of those 840,064 registered water buffaloes only a handful live in Isaan, one can hardly accuse the current administration to aim primarily to enhance it's image in Isaan, now can one?

BTW looking at the issue raised in the OP it's extinction of the water buffaloe, not the Isaan people or red-shirts.

your arguments just get more and more silly.
