Thailand to check on museum heist in Paris

Bangkok: – The government will closely monitor the French investigation on the museum heist near Paris, said Culture Minister VeeraRojpojanarat, noting that one of the 15 stolen items is the replica of the Great Crown of Victory.


King Mongkut sent the crown replica as a gift to French Emperor Napolean III.

Google’s new Photos and Streams could signal the death of Google Plus

Google is reorganising elements of its social networking platform, which has resulted in the launch of two new services, ‘Photos’ and ‘Streams’, leaving the future of much maligned Google Plus far from certain.

The launch of Photos and Streams sees Google take two of the most popular features from Google Plus, namely photo editing and hosting, to launch them as standalone services, whilst at the same time dropping the Google Plus name.

Virgin Atlantic staff are trialling Sony’s smart glasses and watch

Virgin Atlantic has just announced its latest trial of new technology. Last year, the company conducted a six-week trial using Google Glass for Upper Class customers, and it recently announced that it will expand that program. Virgin also tried out Apple’s iBeacon proximity/location technology, and now it’s set to trial Sony smart devices.

So far, the MWC 2015 has introduced us to new smartphones, tablets and even fingerprint scanners. Now, BoydSense has unveiled a new sensor that can accurately identify smells. In this case, the smell of an orange.

BoydSense says their sensor is the “first multi-bio sensing platform”. The start-up hopes to incorporate their technology into future smartphones to help users make smart health decisions before seeing their doctor.

Thailand won 200,000-tonne G2G rice sale deal with the Philippines

BANGKOK, 4 March 2015 (NNT) - Thailand won a government-to-government rice bidding contest to sell 200,000 tones of rice to the Philippines, one of the biggest rice buyers in the world, Commerce Minister Gen Chatchai Sarikulya revealed.

Consumer rights group calls for abolition of all 'unjustifiable' funds related to energy

Winai Putha, 38, said he received B50,000 to make his first delivery of drugs to Phuket.

PHUKET: -- A man from Kanjanaburi has been arrested in Phuket in possession of 4,000 Methamphetamine pills (ya bah) and 94.59 grams of Crystal Meth (ya ice). The suspect admitted he received B50,000 to deliver the drugs and it was his first delivery to Phuket.

German tourist jumps on hit-and-run car in Krabi

Krabi:- A German tourist jumped on a car driven by 19-year-old Thai who tried to flee after bumping into the rear of the tourist’s car. The Thai teenager ended up hitting three more vehicles and seven motorcycles before he was arrested.


Pol Lt Col Chartchai Nakpaksi, an investigative inspector of Muang Krabi police station, said the failed hit-and-run attempt happened on the Ao Nang Road in Moo 2 village in Tambon Ao Nang in Krabi at noon on Tuesday.

MOAC: 36,000 rice farmers in central region are taking alternative employments due to drought

Phuket police proud of week long anti-drug and crime campaign results

A total of 28 guns have been taken off the streets since February 25.

PHUKET: -- A cache of guns and bullets were shown off to Phuket media yesterday (March 3). Police stated that the 28 guns, along with ammunitions, have been seized in just one week as they carry on with their anti-drug and crime campaign.

BMA governor, officials give alms to 89 monks

BANGKOK: -- Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra Wednesday led BMA officials to give alms to 89 monks at Sanam Luang to make merit for Their Majesties the King and Queen on the occasion of the Makha Bucha Day.


And Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will lead a candle procession at Sanam Luang in the evening.

Austrian hotel GM killed in car crash

Kamphaeng Phet:- An Austran man, who was the general manager of a hotel in Chiang Mai, was killed in a car crash in Kamphaeng Phet’s Muang dstrict Wednesday morning.


Pol Capt Samarn Songkhoom, an officer on duty at Muang Kamphaeng Phet police station, said the man was identified by his business card as Christoph Hlebayna, 51. His business card showed that he was the general manger of Grand View Hotel and Convenient Center in Chiang Mai.

NACC to consider whether to file lawsuit against Yingluck
