If Kies does not offer you the update it is probably not available yet for your phone

Posted (edited)

Thanks. Kies offer indeed a update. But it's way too dangerous. I just read some reports. Many people suffer under bad battery performance. Sure, do a factory reset. Yeah, but then i have to install all the apps and do the settings. That's takes to much time. No thanks. No need for lollipop. Unfortunately, there is no decent solution to do backups on a not rooted phone.

Kies3 will backup all your data and apps

I recommend this as it is the official Samsung app

I use it every week to ensure no loss of data

Alternatively MoboRobo

Both run on your PC

No need to be rooted for either

Yes, but the settings for the apps won't get backup. This will be the most work, to do all the settings and configurations on the apps. I tried also helium which should be able to backup also the settings. Well, for some apps it works, for some not.

why not juts root the phone, much much better, i managed to get rid of 95 stock apps from the note 3 that i never ever going to use, freed up over 1gb memory that gets uses and also managed to use clokcwork mod to do a nandroid backup, now phone runs much better

I'm concerned about the warranty. I still didn't update to Lollipop. I read plenty of reports. It must be horrible. Battery empty within a few hours. Many users say...no problem...just do a factory reset. I don't get the point. Do this people not customize their phone? It takes hours after a reset to configure the phone as it is now. It's just not worth. I guess, we have to wait 10 years more till the smartphones become smart.
