July 21, 2025Jul 21 For years I have been withdrawing the maximum 30000 baht from my account but as of last week the ATM says that it is above the daily limit. Not just my account but the jount account with the wife and her own personal account. Thought it must have been a coding error on a software upgrade. Just had a lengthy discussion with the Kasikorn Bank call centre. K Bank have, as of 16 July, reduced the withdrawal limit on all foreigner accounts to 20000 baht daily. The limit was also applied to my wife's personal account as money has been transferred to it from overseas. This appears to be taking discrimination too far. Has anyone had the same problem?
July 21, 2025Jul 21 Popular Post No, AFAIK You can adjust the limit yourself, via app or online banking.

Welcome to the club, they are gradually rolling it out, you can stil use the account to get money from overseas, but any spending via the Kplus app or bank cards will be limited to 50K THB per day or 20K THB withdrawal. So basically anyone using it to get funds in to Thailand, for larger amounts you need to transfer in person at the bank teller. For more info see this reddit:

OP, I can't tell from your post above: --Are you saying Kasikorn is limiting withdrawals to 20,000 THB per when you try to use your Kasikorn card at one of their (or any Thai bank) ATMs... --Or, are you saying they're restricting foreign bank card withdrawals from their ATMs to 20K per withdrawal. Or both? Thai bank ATMS have always had varying per withdrawal limits that were/are coded into the ATM machines themselves (regardless of the card used, Thai or foreign). And Kasikorn ATMs AFAIK never in any recent times allowed 30K per withdrawal. It didn't matter who was doing the withdrawal or what card (Thai or foreign) they were using. The ATM machine itself was programmed to only provide the maximum number of 1,000 baht bills per withdrawal... And for Kasikorn, I thought that used to be 25K per withdrawal...based on their ATMs.

Kasikorn has been allowing 30000 withdrawals for maybe ten years. It used to be 20000 before that.

They said that the wife could take her book to the bank and increase it for her personal account even though that was reduced to 20000 as well because of the foreign transfers. Could not do it with our joint account as it included a foreigner, me.

July 21, 2025Jul 21 Popular Post I am somewhat fed up with the ever repeating alarms. Even unneeded I will withdraw 30k on Wednesday and take pictures 🙄
July 21, 2025Jul 21 One idea: did they limit withdrawal with FOREIGN cards to 20k as AEON did years ago? Then I am in the wrong thread.

I do not use the app so just searched the website for our joint account and there is nothing there to change the limit. The website says that our accounts are K Biz accounts. Is that the way yours are described? (the local bank did not understand when I told them that). Can you access your account via the website or only on the app?

AND indeed: for Kbiz website (with SMS OTP) there are other limits which I don't have present (there was news about it). Would have to check. With the website they can not add additional security with facial scan.

Apologies My SCB limit has always been set to 20k. I'm ok with that as it's my monthly spend aside from rent, utilities
July 22, 2025Jul 22 Just another thread, based on individual bank branches going rouge, and act as they se it fit for the day. There is no bank whatsoever, that will say it any limits if contacting HQ. Typical wind-.up and scaremongering.

Law abiding expats really made to suffer due to the rampant criminality that the Thai government just cannot get a handle on. US Feds would have it all cleaned up in a few months.

Limits on foreign cards is different than a thai bank card limit i believe. They have limits on both for a couple reasons. Some limits are in thailand while foreign card limits may come from the country the card is issued in. Scammers is a big reason for limits. Also remember that most banks don't service and fill all the machines themselves and have a limited amount if money in each.
July 22, 2025Jul 22 Kasikorn 50.000- daily limit and max 20.000- ATM suddenly and I cannot change it. Useless.

You wrote it in an ambiguous way that can be read that you were using foreign cards. Intent in writing does not always convey so my mistake then for presuming what you wrote implied you use a foreign card and had you not mentioned it I would not have read it that way. The remainder of what I wrote is still accurate.

July 22, 2025Jul 22 Popular Post 1 hour ago, Gottfrid said: I doesn´t matter. Everytime the call centers give different info as well. Unfortunately it is real, and on orders of the Bank of Thailand. They are rolling it out across accounts held by foreigners, and as we are in Thailand this might take a while and even then some accounts might be missed. So maximum limit on whatever transaction through mobile banking is 50,000 Baht, any transaction by atm card (both cash withdrawal and in-shop spending) limited to 20,000 Baht. Both above are daily limits. Multiple reports of foreigners having new limits instated, some after going in for an update (sim card, passport update, facial scan), other just over night, and this across multiple banks. Its not because a lot of people still have the old limits that its not true, might take several weeks or longer to update the limits and push to the apps for all foreigners...
