The supreme court will act this year and make denying same sex marriage licenses unconstitutional in all 50 states, in a very similar way that not so long ago, they made restricting interracial marriages unconstitutional in all 50 states. Not correct. There's tons of things that foreigners are not automatically (or in some cases, ever) allowed to do. ( example : employment example 2 : be President.)

This, however, is off topic. Try immigrating to the US with a Thai spouse. It is not automatic. (I think I won't have issues when we try, including his green card.. But I am lucky!)

I was pleased to note that my native Scotland legalised same sex marriage a few weeks back, as did the state of Alabama; although for Alabama its a minor step really from Same-family marriages to same Sex marriages! Trrrrrrr, TSh!

For me I have no problem with same sex marriage ...

Firstly, marriage has moved from a just a religious ceremony to a more secular thing ... Taxes, health care, ect...

Secondly, as more and more people 'come out' most people have friends and family that are openly gay/ lesbian...

So rather than being this 'evil , bad people '... These are our brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, friends or cousins...

These are people we know and love and respect, who are just trying to make the best life they can and pledge their commitment to the person that they love and want to spend the rest of their life with
