Line App-Message delay

Featured Replies

Checked my phone, all notifications are on.

I dont seem to get messages unless I open the app, or at the very best they come in a couple of hours late, any ideas please?

iOS, Android or PC?

If Android, are you running any task killers/managers that affect background tasks?

Menu ( ... ) / Settings / Notifications

"Force closing the app may lead to notifications being late or not being received"

other relevant notification options be here

Thx, on android. So would hitting the home button on the phone constitute a forced closure?

On WiFi or 3G? If WiFi, maybe you have the WiFi set to turn off when the device is sleeping?

Always on 3G, I dont have any task killers either, it rather puzzling.

I understand there is a new version out. Did you upgrade?

The use of the HOME Button only minimizes the current app, it doesn't force close or even close it. (Force Close is a system setting). Closing Apps is down be reversing out of the app using the BACK button.

But with LINE, and other apps that use 'notifications', they utilize a separate piece of code like a 'notification listener (process)' that continues to run in the background for when the main app isn't running.

I'm guessing that this 'listener (process)' is either not launching, not running properly, getting blocked, or data is being misrouted.

As the android device is on (even sleeping) and has a currently live Internet Data Connection, the background notification process should work.

A suggestion: Try uninstalling the LINE app, then restart the phone and reinstall it.

Do you have a battery saver mode on? Check in your settings. Data will often disconnect whilst the phone is idle unless your settings specify otherwise.

Thanks all, tried the reinstall to no avail, notifications are on, all other apps that need data work fine
