I use a 27" iMAC and am well satisfied.

12 months ago my connection to net via 3BB was all but perfect.

I live near Chiang Mai University and as the year progressed the internet connection ADSL deteriorated, many students so understandable.

Say 3 months ago it became poor and calls where made to 3BB on 1530. Prompt answers and they would contact CM office and they, then phoned me on my mobile.

On one occasion young lady says

I can see you have a poor connection and she did something her end and instantaneous result, Big improvement.

Twice Technicians where dispatched and matters sorted, one Condo line problem and second time said to be my problem as Phone line cable was pulled tight against solid object.

They changed over cables at the splitter and decent connection.

I tried Wi Fi used by condo, better for connection to Singapore Expat TV, far superior to 3BB.

That started to deteriorate the other week and I found that the ISP had changed to Lahore in India. I am no computer expert but I do have a little knowledge.

Tuesday I went down to 3BB office and requested their 'Fiber' connection.

No go as I live in a condo, House only, though they cover my are.

So True where visited and no problem, nice polite young lady and B899/month for 16/1 connection, 12 months payment. 300 meters free cable then B3 /meter if needed.

They fitted yesterday and could not connect. Eventually two 'Senior Techs came and I was told input to Condo was correct but bad connection my end. Cable says I.

They checked and found a problem in cable.

Now comes what baffles me When I got to have a look the young man seemed to have done a Splice and was taping up the cable joint.

I thought a special connection was required.

They set up my iMAC no problem and I requested a speed check, 16 meg download in Thailand and .995 upload.

They checked Singapore just slightly down and UK 8 meg download.

I took over and downloaded several sites and massive improvement. Sing TV Buffers up very well and gives good service, caught up on a few programs.

Still early days, Good service from True.

I enclose a photo of the splice, which baffles me.

Does anyone know if 'Fiber' is a Copper wire connection or is it an optical wire connection ?
