Gov't to push forward land allocation


BANGKOK, 19 March 2015 (NNT) – The government will be proceeding to solve the land allocation for all public groups, granting land usage under unsellable conditions to those who do not hold deeds in accordance with the agricultural zoning policy, says the Prime Minister.


After chairing the National Land Policy Committee Meeting 1/2015, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said that the meeting has discussed on the sustainable land allocation guidelines in keep with the government’s vision for the security and the prosperity of the people.


He has revealed that the allocation guidelines will retain the existing forest land to preserve fertility, and solve forest trespassing and illegal usages. The guidelines also indicate that persons with who do not own land will be granted the common land usage rights, which prohibits the land to be sold by rights holders, along with the benefits that will help regulate the legality of land usage.


The Prime Minister has said that this will be a good start of the project, but it will take some time to proceed and should not be rushed, the Prime Minister has said.


The Prime Minister has added that the allocated land will be regulated by related agencies to make sure that the land will be used in keep with the agricultural zoning policy, the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, the forest protection, and the strength of the community initiatives from Their Majesties the King and Queen.


He also assured that the government will take care of the nation’s public, both those living in rural areas and in the urban cities.

When will the various governments here realize, that giving land to people don't make them farmers??

When will the various governments here realize, that giving land to people don't make them farmers??

I believe some are already on the the land, are farmers, but don't have legal entitlement to the property.
