CBR650F Nightime Action Video

Here is a 5 minute 1080p video I shot tonight as a test with an inexpensive SJCam SJ4000 action camera I just bought for 3,000 Baht from Lazada. It is a cheap copy camera of a GoPro. People mentioned problems with vibration when mounting a camera to a bike, but I am quite pleased with it. The vibration is pretty minimal in my opinion. The sound gets a bit dodgy at times, I think when I am downshifting and compression breaking it gets too loud, but otherwise the sound is pretty nice when accelerating. The camera doesn't do that well at night in the dark in terms of the colors, but it is sharp at least and in the daytime it should be much better. I do need to get fender eliminator kit so that the camera can see over the back tire.

I get a lot of vibration when it is placed on the handlebars, but only when pulling away from a traffic light or so.

Pretty impressed!!!!

Its a good cam, can buy it from mbk too for 3,000bht.

Depends on wheren on the bike you fix the cam. When I put it on my crash bar facing front its a good quality indeed

No crash bars on the CBR650F [emoji6], but I may get a chest strap and wear it in front some time.

Whoa... I want both...clap2.gif

I was expecting to see big flames shooting out.

Me too. Perhaps I should file a complaint with Big Wing? [emoji12][emoji108][emoji106]

Is like to see. Thanks. The first one is taking a long time to load so I'll try again later. The second one seems locked and in a private access area.

There is a bloke in the UK who does action camera reviews and has some sample videos he shot from his bike with the SJ4000 too. You can download them here if your interested:

Actually both your video are locked in a private area. No dice here it seems.

Ok try again, should be ok now.

Sorry don't know anything abt how to use youtube :)

I was able to access now. Thanks. Are both the same video? Nice riding, landscapes, and roads and excellent video quality. Perhaps next time you can fix the camera on the outside of the windscreen?

Will be in bkk next week, where in MBK can I get one?

Cheers.

Yes I was scared to put it outside the windscreen thatcit would come of. I then put it on my helmet but after speeds if 170-ish it really came off with the 3m sticker (luckily it was attached safely).

Think im up for a chest mount which woulf give you the best view.

@roo860 you can find them everywhere but, they have loads of copies as well. Make a 10minute Google study about the box and looks of the camera, its easy to spot if you know where to look for. They will ask for 3,300 but give it away for 3,000

Yes, chest mount would be the best for front view, I agree. Saw some selling on eBay from China for $10.

This guy on eBay is selling a package with both a chest and a head mount (2 different straps) for a total of less than US$9 including shipping to Thailand. I went for one:
