90 day rumor or fact

A friend called me today and told me he had read an article in the Bangkok Post that said 90 day reporting could be done on line starting on April the first.

Any body hear any thing definite. I know it had been mentioned a few weeks ago.

If it had been on Thai Visa I would have thought maybe George trying to slip in an early April Fools joke on us.

Lets hope its true and that it works, will save a lot of time,

trees, stress and hassle,I suppose the only people who

will not be happy are the Visa agents.lets hope this is the

first step in making our lives a little easier, next, 5 year visa

would be nice.

Statutes reference making 90 day reports in person, by an authorized person, and "registered mail", etc.

Thus it will take time to implement as the relevant statute needs official amendment in order for online reporting to be consistent with Thai law.

Well it is April Fool's Day.

You totally got us, Immigration! smile.png

Seriously though, it's possible that lots more people are trying the site just to see if it works. It looks liek the server is overloaded actually. It may be adequate for normal use. Still not a good first impression, but let's see what it's like after the initial Farang Tsunami subsides, and/or they add some more resources to their site infrastructure.

I was on the same time as krabbyken at 6.30am so maybe the two of us caused the overload!

Please note the April 1 topic and the browser requirements. Some members are now reporting success getting it through today. Also, remember IE is the requirement by immigration though some have installed a user agent in their browser. Check the topic more closely as to how to get other browsers to work.

The article I read -- said for now only Bkk area residents and have to use Internet Explorer.

Makes no difference what browser I used.. Chrome Maxthon running IE mode.. Or IE..

Al I can input my data step 1.. then 'contact your local immigration' box..

That was talked about at the Chaing Mai Expats Club meeting with CM Immigration

Maybe its all a April Fools Setup

I suspect George had a hand in this. He seems to get one every year.

OK OK ENOUGH ALREADY!

If this is an April Fool spoof, kindly delete the entire thread; we have enough trouble as it is discerning fact from fiction regarding immigration rules etc w/o jokes.

Even if this is not a joke, it's best IMO to delete the entire thread on 'new' 90-Day reporting as one knows not what to believe now.

Wait a bit and when something credible emanates from our Immigration authorities then begin anew, please.

You mean like an official announcement from Immigration? Maybe like this one from February?

Please see the pinned topic. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/557382-90-day-report-procedures/

In person, 15 days before 7 days after expiration is the window. By mail, immigration states send 15 days before but there is no 7 day late allowance and you will be fined. Now for the online version, when fully active, must file between 15 and 7 days before expiration.

Believe that covers all cases. smile.png
