PATTAYA: -- Just before daybreak on Wednesday, Pattaya Police arrested a Russian on public order offences after he was found sleeping in front of a Pattaya Hotel and during his transport to the Police Station he attempted to escape and bit a junior Police Officer in his leg.

The case began when a two-man Police Patrol spotted a foreign national sleeping on the street, in front of the Woodland Resort Hotel in Naklua. The officers approached the foreign man, who was identified as Russian and aged in his early thirties.

As the Russian awoke, he quickly became aggressive and it was decided to take him to Pattaya Police Station and incarcerate him until he had recovered from his intoxicated state.

The man was placed in the back of a Police Truck and his transport to Pattaya Police Station was assisted by Police Lance Corporal Anuchit, who sat close to him on the back of the truck to ensure his safety during the journey.

Wannabe what? Why are foreign nationals always jealous when they see a farang doing something useful with his time in Thailand? Even if it means wearing a uniform? My mate is a paramedic in the UK and

I think it's the Russian (in the middle) that looks disgusting.

He is so drunk that he can't keep his heard up and eyes open, one of Russia's finest.

One of the quality tourists, eh clap2.gif

If it's true the police officer decides not to press charges, he is one lucky dude too man.

Who's the fella on the left then?

Russian lad looks like he's taken a few digs there

Is he alive or are they holding up a corpse for the photo opportunity. I've arrested a lot of drunks and been bitten, kicked and spat on but it never made news or even aroused the media enough to come out and take photos.

Looks like the Russian fell over a couple of times between his sleeping place and the cells.

Yeah i agree..lol.. looks like he has fallen on his face a few times, hard, with help..lol.. good he will not do it again

"We understand the officer decided not to take the case any further and the man was released without further action."

He was satisfied with the extrajudicial retribution.

It seems that the authorities administered a bit of concrete therapy to the offender.

`We understand the officer decided not to take the case any further and the man was released without further action`

So fudging lucky!

Sleeping on the street must be a reserved pastime.

Or perhaps negative for the image of the Woodlands.

Fortunate to be let off after a free night in the monkey house.

How do you know he`s a disgusting slob? Do you know him personally to state such things?

Looks like he was helping to me. If that`s being a slob where you come from then hey, I`m a slob too.

The only thing he's helping out with is holding the head of the Russian so that the photographer can get a clear shot of him.

Disgusting. You can't get much lower than a BIB wannabe.

So doing his job makes him a slob???

Is it really a job or a hobby, he is an unpaid volunteer?

I have said before, I do not know why they personally volunteer, and it isn't for me, but they serve a useful purpose and I do not understand why some despise them for it.

Hope they gave the policeman a rabies vaccine.

No surprise he is a drunken belligerent Russian.

Drink + Russian = Violence.

Perhaps this case is a bit more akin to "Man bites dog" is why it made the news??

Just sayin'... Just joking.

What he did would be a felony in the States, whether the cop decided to "press charges" or not, so the drunken lout is pretty lucky.

I hope the officer got his shots. You never know where the Russian's mouth had been recently.

edit: Oops. Noticed your post too late.

Hope they gave the policeman a rabies vaccine.

The Russian, who refused to give his name, was taken straight to the holding cells and was questioned later on Wednesday. We understand the officer decided not to take the case any further and the man was released without further action.

All too common law enforcement in Thailand...take you to the police station for a while and then drop charges even though the guy tried to escape while in en-route to the police station and bit the police officer which could be considered assault. After all of that they just let him go. Pretty lax law enforcement, but hey, this is Thailand.

Hopefully he fell on someones fist.

The Police Lance Corporal Anuchit, who sat close to him on the back of the truck deserves a medal.

He deserves a KFC treat from Russian embassy to safe guard the police!

Ok...I am now crossing "Biting Thai Policemen on the Leg" off my bucket list.

Assault police in Victoria Australia is a minor offence which just carries a small fine. The courts look at it as an occupational hazard. You get a bigger fine for speeding.

Did they sit close to him or on him? Ha ha
