Kind regards

You can get a 2 entry tourist visa at the embassy in Vientiane or the consulate in Savannakhet Laos.

Does the embassy take Thai money or is this a stupid question.

You can fly or travel overland to both locations.

There are several international flights to Vientiane but there is only one a day to Savannakhet.

Nok Air has a fly/ride service to Vientiane via Udon Thani.

Nok Air and Air Asia has a fly/ride service to Mukdahan that is across the river from Savannakhet.

They accept baht for the visa fee. For a 2 entry visa it will be 2000 baht.

Mukdahan you fly to Nakhon Phanom and then coach to Mukdahan,
