This will not happen.

1) As mentioned already CP controls the poultry industry in Thailand

2) One Family of Indian/Thai control the supply most weapons to both the Army and Police.

3) Around three families control most shopping centers in Thailand.

On most PLC's you will see past politicians, police and army generals in the board. Their only job is to keep things as it is. Those powerful families finance the Democrat Party by the way.

Just to point out that those same families appeared to get along equally well too, with the several Thaksin-related governments, over the past decade.

Thailand's nascent telecoms-industry wasn't exactly a hotbed of competition, was it ? wink.png

Monopolistic or highly-influential corporate groups won't want their boat, or should I say luxury private-yacht, to be rocked ! whistling.gif

I would hope that the NRC might move to introduce more competition, perhaps aided by the onset of the ASEAN changes at the end of this year, and also encourage these powerful Thai commercial-groups to look outwards for expansion, to benefit the country as well as their shareholders ?

Tesco was bought by CP some time back

Did they ?

CP were the Lotus and they sold their shares before.

CP bought Makro out.

Tesco Thailand operated by Ek-Chai Distribution System Co., Ltd. is that part of CP ?
