April 9, 201510 yr I have seen debate elsewhere on ThaiV.com about whether immigration offices are closed all of next week or just the 3 days Monday to Wednesday inclusive. I went to Sisaket immigration (Meuang Sisaket) today and they are closed for just 3 days. Anyone else with confirmed intelligence about other Isaan provinces is welcome to post in response. For Sisaket foreign inhabitants please also note: A. I just put a posting up about the transfer of visas from old to new passport at Sisaket immi. Applies to UK passports but may have something to say about the process for other nationals. See: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/810262-now-is-a-good-time-to-renew-an-uk-passport/ B. Police Sargeant Major Pairin took the opportunity to show me a forthcoming notification about the non-availability of visa extensions at Phusing (FTAOD I'm talking about those things often (wrongly) called a 'retirement visa' or 'marriage visa', I guess it also applies to applications to extend a 30 day permission to stay and tourist visa extensions). You will have to travel to Meuang Sisaket in future. I should have asked about other services like residence letters etc - I assume that they are still available 'down South'. I'm sure that visa runs to go over the border and re-enter at Choam SaN'gam to continue the use of your multiple entry visa (one that was originally issued outside Thailand) are still possible as the notice only related to applications 'for visa extensions' at the Phusing immigration sub-office. She wanted to know if the notice made sense to a foreigner - my offer to edit it was welcomed, so if you see it and it makes no sense it's partly my fault!
April 9, 201510 yr It's been announced several times. I doubt individual offices are allowed to choose their own holiday schedule.
