April 16, 201511 yr No-one has mentioned that he could be reacting to MSG which is so loved here in Thailand/Asia. I cannot tolerate MSG at all, feelings of nausia and general "unwellness" shortly after eating anything containing MSG. Also cannot tolerate spicy food dishes, tho I could many years back (67yo). Bland is best for me, plus, cooking/frying using 100% EV Organic coconut oil is wonderful for my guts, I even sprinkle some extra oil on top of my food. This brand below is esp excellent I found after trying a few different kinds (they do vary). Where do you buy that brand?
April 17, 201511 yr It is available at Rimping, and at my gf's store. We decided to stock it after we had such a positive experience using it. Google "noi chiang mai organic coconut oil" for her store, or visit Rimping (or visit my profile). Doug

April 17, 201511 yr Read up on diverticulitis...which I'm suffering from. According to my doctor and what's on Google, all of us will get it sometime in life. Some will know they have it because of it's severity and some will have it and not know they have it because it's just the way it is. Eating changes will need to be made before it gets worse. Listen to your gut. It's speaking to you. I wish I had. I'm 62 and my gut is 10 yrs older. Good luck, I wish you the best.
April 17, 201511 yr It's quite common for expats to experience mild gastric symptoms. It is not due to one particular thing though things like alcohol, spicy food, and strong coffee head the mob if likely suspects. Aspirin could also be a factor, it never upset me in all honesty, whereas the booze, fags, and rich food !, well that's another matter.
