Good morning Issanites,

I have my elderly parents coming for a visit in October for a few weeks, they are pretty laid back and this is their second visit. I am planning a road trip North from Chum Phae through Loei to Chiang Khan, then along the Mekong to Nong Khai. After a short crossing into Laos we will continue down through to Khon Kaen.

Has anybody got any local advise about this route? I wouldnt mind visiting a winery around Loei and then one of the guesthouses on the river at Chiang Khan. Of course we will just take it all as it comes but if anyone has any good recommendations it would be appreciated.
