Thingamajig - what's this called?

Featured Replies

I'm pretty sure I've seen these at Home Pro, Global, etc. - but now I can't find and my artistry leaves the help baffled.

What I'm looking for are the fast connect thingies that you just squeeze to open and then to connect something. I just need to know what these are called so I can Google a photo that I can then copy and show somebody what I want.

My feeble attempt to draw:

isn't it one of those 'whatchamacallits' ?

.... You can find table tennis and baseball bats in the sports stores...

To be of more help: In the past when I've hit a translation / artistry brick wall I've performed a 'google image' search on my phone...

When in the shop ask "Have you got this?" then show them the photo...

Its a versuon of a spring clip....i call them cabanas as climbers use thempost-150623-14294296596661_thumb.jpg

A simple form of a "snap hook"?

Trying hard to find it in Thai to no avail.

Thanks guys! Now, armed with a photo, I just need to find who sells them.

I'd call them an Ice Cream Scoop and a Wisk. Mmmm, home-made ice cream.

In my part of the world, the clips are call carabiner

We have these to attach our curtain pull (pole) to the curtains...

You might find them in such a section in HomePro or the like...

The simpler versions are also known as Spring Hooks

Not to be confused with these

If these are what you are looking for,

It is actually spelled " Carabiner".

and is pronounced like" Care a beaner"

Those made for rock climbing can withstand loads of 2000 pounds,

but in recent decades they are available with much less strength as well...ones used as keychains, should only be used as keychains.

Be sure to purchase ones suitable for your needs.

For some reason eating a banana at the same time affects memory.

Thats my excuse today.
