Hi,

I know I could search in Thai Visa for the answer but there seems to be a few conflicting reports on this matter.

I would like to know whether the $40,000 bt a month requirement for a marriage visa needs to be money from my country placed into my Thai bank account, or can it be from money I earn from my school? I earn about 33,000 bt a month from my school but I also work part time at a language school. This places me above 40,000 bt. I don't have any pay slips from my school, but can obtain a letter of employment stating my salary if needed. The other work I do, I can place the money in my account to show that I have over 40,000 bt a month at the beginning of each month, but I do not have a pay slip from the language school.

Also, can I use that money each month, or does it have to remain in the account all the time? Can I spend it and at the beginning of each month when I am paid, show that 40,000 bt in my account again?

Lastly, do I have to show a bank statement for only a 3 month period to immigration to verify this?

Thank you for your time.

You can use income from working to meet the 40k baht requirement. You have to be able to show a work permit for each source of income and tax payment receipts for each one as proof.

You only need to prove the source of the income. You do not need to keep it in the bank for any amount of time.
