Hi All

would really like some guidance on the following:

Im on a Non imm B Visa and due to traveling arrangements have obtained a second UK passport as my first passport that contains my B visa is going in for an extension soon right in the middle of me needing to travel, so i will leave Thailand on my second passport leaving my first one with my lawyer for the B Visa extension upon my return i assume my second passport will be stamped with a 30 day visa waiver meaning if i dont leave on that passport within the 30 days that passport will be showing an overstay ? how do i get around this ? can the embassy help? or maybe immigration ?

Many thanks in advance for any ideas

You must leave and re-enter on the passport you entered Thailand on. You cannot just swap passports (unless you have a new one to replace the old passport).

What you want to do cannot be done. You will not even be allowed to leave on the 2nd passport.

An extension only takes a few hours and can be gotten 45 days before the due date, without losing any days.

Don't forget the re-entry permit.

You will be not able to leave the country on your 2nd passport because you did not enter the country on it. It will not have an entry stamp in it.

I don't think there is any thing you can do to fix your problem.

As far as I am aware the only way to temporarily leave Thailand while waiting on an extension (will take 30 or more days for nonB/employment) is to get a re entry permit on the 'notify before' stamp, and be back in Thailand before that date. Otherwise you cannot leave Thailand. This has been a major hassle for me many times before. Several times I had to cancel the extension application and get a new non b abroad due to unexpected travel for my job.
