I had a thread about it before, but My Content only goes back to 2014 so can't see it. Anyway, requirements may have changed recently in Chiang Mai.

The form is TM7.

Bank book must be updated on the same day as the application in most (all?) immigration offices including Chaengwattana, Bangkok. The bank letter confirms the current amount on deposit, it is the bank book that provides the three month deposit proof..

You need photocopies of all relevant passport pages obviously (visa, face page, last extension, entry stamp, and entry card (TM6 ).

It is worth taking a proof of address just in case you are asked, though I never have been at my office.

Sorry to disappoint but nothing has changed about what you need, rules are the same. Just had a friend get his extension of stay fromhis non-o visa and every thing he used to get visa was the same for the extension of stay. The only difference is that he used the income method.

I believe indeed nothing has changed in CM. Read the post of Partington, he gave the necessary corrections on your needed documents.

Thanks, I had forgotten about the photocopies.

What happens if you have a 9am appointment as no way you can get an updated bank book on the day?

First time I did an extension there was no requirement to update as, obviously, if you had withdrawn the money it would be noted in the bank book. Don't know why they brought in the new rule, which was NOT noted on the Immigration website requirements. I guess it's TiT.

That is why I asked on here, because they seem to make up new rules for no apparent reason.

Thanks to all respondents.

Most banks have automatic machines that update your bankbook and are available 24 hours a day! You may need to do a transaction to get an update from a machine: if you do then deposit 1000B (after you get your bank letter), and on the day of the immigration visit withdraw the 1000B and update your book, both at machines at a bank branch.

I should say I do not know for sure Chiang Mai requires the bank book update to be on the same day, but it is likely. You need photocopies of all the relevant bankbook pages also.
