Hey all :D

Need help on clarifying this...

My bf went applying for multi entry tourist visa at Thai embassy in the Hague (he's dutch apparently :D ). Turned out the officer there gave him 3 entries of non-immigrant visa instead!! So I suppose that's kinda better than multi entry tourist visa right?

- Is it 90 days of stay per entry?

- In total he will be able to stay 270 days?

- with 2 border hops in between?

- Anything I missed???

Pleaseeee help me figuring this out :o

Thank you

There is not such thing an multi entry for Tourist visa - he received what is normally the most that can be obtained. It should cover almost 9 months (270 days) with 3 extensions of stay for 30 days which each cost an extra 1,900 baht and require a visit to Immigration. The visa entry is only 60 days so usage could be enter/60+30/exit/enter/60+XX/exit/enter/60+30. Visa is only valid for 6 months from issue so second 30 day extension (XX) would require he leave early enough to return before the 6 months were up.

Lopburi3 thanks.... :D

But the officer told him that he does't need to get an extension at the immigration... (if it were tourist visa then he might need to pay 19K to get extension, but what he got now is non-immigrant visa... so??)

He was told that he can just stay for 90 days then do 1st border hop, stay another 90 days, do 2nd border hop then comes the last 90 days...

What he's granted is "multi entry non-imm visa" and is valid for 1 yr ...

So... ?? :o

Help!! >_<

I misread your original post as non immigrant visa is only issued as single or multi normally and you said three entry (which would normally be a tourist visa). Sorry.

If he has a multi entry non immigrant O visa it will be valid for one year from date of issue and each entry can be for 90 days. He only has to exit/enter to obtain another 90 days so it could be used for almost 15 months stay in Thailand. So yes that is much better than a 3 entry tourist visa.

Thank you once again Lopburi3 :D

I'm wondering bout one thing... is it possible that they issued him multiple entry non-imm visa based on traveling purpose only?? Cause I'm pretty sure he must have told the officer there that he just wanna come to Thailand for traveling and visiting his gf... and that's all... No work, no study, no marry or any of those sort

I can't play fortune teller but I suspect he said something about a girl friend and staying for a long time and they provided the best visa. He can get married, study, work, or just visit on that type of visa. But to work he would also require a work permit.

I have a one-year multi-entry non-immigrant visa issued in Hull, UK.

I put the reason for visiting Thailand was "visiting friends". No questions asked.

These visas are effectively available to all in many western countries
