Your best bet would be to buy the bamboo poles and get some one to split them ,it can be done with a knife/machete ,can say I have never seen split bamboo for sale. Most Thai's allways do it them selfs.

Ask around, some one locally will be able to it,or do it your self, they is a youtube vido on how to split bamboo.

There's a few big stores on Suk just south of Chaiyaphuek. Can't miss them. They also sell the big bamboo poles. I'd bet they'd split them for you?

Do you know how long before the rain destroy them ? Thanks.

When you get the bamboo put on some wood preservative stop the insects from eating the wood ,a big problem with bamboo.

An old Thai way put the bamboo poles split or unsplit in water ,wife says up to a month ,will stop the insects from eating the wood it is to suppose to make the bamboo smell and insects will not eat the wood may be an old wives tale, but I have heard of this before

For if you do not do something you will be for ever sweeping up bamboo dust.

Bamboo in the rain ,I have bamboo poles 18 months old still ok, if you put on some preservative it will prolong there life.
