Potential problems with insurance

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of registering a new bike in my wifes name, the insurance (1st class) would also be in her name, I would be the only driver, can anyone see a problem in the event of an accident???

Perhaps you should talk to your agent?

Also, why not register the bike in your own name to avoid any problems? If you get pulled over by police they will see you aren't the owner of the bike from your paperwork and may start asking more questions. If you ever want to sell it you will need her to sign documents, etc. I just think better put it in your own name if you will be the main driver and true owner of the bike.

I'm putting the bike in my wife's name so that she will have no problems selling it when I shuffle off the mortal coil.

no problem if the policy is "any driver" as so many policies are...
