Boric acid

Hi, just read that a very effective ant killer is boric acid mixed with sugar and water. And non carcinogenic!

Does anyone know where I can buy boric acid or borax here on Samui?

Don't know about a supplier on Samui but can be bought online.

Locally the only place I have found Borax is Gai Pharmacy on Soi 4 in Maenam (towards the sea) ... It's "food grade" so about 500 baht / box.

I've got someone trying to track down non food grade currently, when/ if I get details on that I will post, it should be lots cheaper.

I have seen on the Farm forum I think people finding it for about a 100 baht up north. Last lot I got came from overseas in a 2 kg box, brought in by a friend.

Borax sounds about the same in Thai as English...

and yes it does a pretty good job on ants.... mix equal parts water to sugar and borax... place in a jam jar lid or something like that...dotted around, it takes a day or two to kill off the colony.... you'll be pretty much ant free for a few months!

Just got 400 grams from Ebay for 500thb delivered, time to rain unholy death and destruction upon the ant intruders!

You don't need a large amount in any one area.....try and find the ant trails, which is not usually to difficult..... make sure it is a syrupy consistency....(do not add too much water!)
