True Adsl : Should We Pay For Any More Than Basic ?

Featured Replies

I understand True do not even manage to keep their service commitment to even the most basic of their ADSL contracts.

Is it worth paying any more money to get one of their 'faster' services?

I have a 2048/1024 True domestic connexion at home and find it a reasonable balance between cost and {low} expectation, though it should be said I'm not a P2P'er etc.

I have real dobuts as to any company here being able to offer corporate level performance. In fairness there are just too many things outside their control and in the authorities.

On the service level I did note on installation that the SLA relates to sites within Thailand only, and makes no extra-national claims :o

Regards

Consider getting their 128/64 package for 300 baht a month. It is the most likely to meet value for money expectations. The higher you go, the more dubious the gains.

True do meet their service contracts. The fine print say the advertised speed is the 'connection speed to the True network', ie. not international bandwidth. That is not to say that their service is not crap. It is.

Why is it so bloody hard to provide basic internet service in Thailand? It seems to me the whole communications infrastructure is going down the toilet. Try making a cross-network mobile call in peak hour. Pathetic.
