I try to speak Thai whenever possible even though I might not get it right I try and ask for help Humble maybe but more like willing to learn. I even sit down with this old Thai security guard at my condo And we seem to learn a little from each other. But with use of hands and other things we communicate He even taught me several words in Thai, which I repeat to him in English. But I guess since both of us are close in age it is easier to learn from one another.

What is perhaps most painful for Thais is that people from Myanmar probably speak better English. Oh! They were colonized by the UK. Too bad.

Cambodians also generally have much better English than the Thais - and they were colonized by the French.
