Transferring SGD to THB?

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good currency transfer system apart from using the banks.

In Australia there is a company called BahtSmart which you can transfer AUD to THB at great rates and no commission within a day or two.

I have a multi currency account in Singapore and the fees with DBS and the Thai banks are ridiculous when making withdrawals in Thailand or doing TT's.

Is anyone aware of any companys in Singapore offering a similar service to BahtSmart in Australia. Not sure if there are many Thai's working in Singapore or not requiring that type of service.

Look forward to any reply.

Regards

JT

If you are in Singapore go to golden mile mall. There are money remittance shops there which a lot of the Thais in Singapore use. Cheaper than using the bank

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I will keep it in mind and check it out when I'm next in Singapore.

At present I'm in Thailand so was hoping to find an online legal service similar to BahtSmart.com

Thanks for the info.

Yes.

Go to Golden Mile Complex on Beach Road, there are several offices there that do this money transfer services, their rates are as good as the bank but you don't need a bank account.

I use BKK Forex Pte. Ltd. regularly and have done for years, the money always arrives in Thailand and is usually the next working day.

They have a flat rate of SG$12 per transaction.

If you use a private currency exchange company make sure you are protected. A company that I used in the UK a while back went bust a year or so later, not with my money I might add, so I'm quite happy using the banks. I just received £4000 pounds worth of THB into the Bangkok bank @ 51.28 (with no commission) and was charged £22 by the NatWest.
