September 11, 200619 yr Every week seems to bring the announcement of some new law or regulation that snubs long-stay foreigners in the Kingdom. What can we do? Does no-one care about our opinions? Who will speak for us and our families? It's politics and I think we all know what "talks" and what "walks", so I'd like to know: What lobbying groups exist that are aligned with our and our families' interests? Association of Foreigners in Thailand? (Never heard of it.) What else? Are foreigners allowed to directly support political parties? What is the most foreigner-friendly -- i.e. least foreigner-unfriendly -- political party? Can we support it? Or would supporting an opposition party really bring down the hammer? Would it be useful to "adopt" one of the out of favor parties and try to get it at least one seat in the House? Thai Rak Thai 60%; Democrat Party, 18%; Chart Thai, 12%; Machacon, 8%; Khonkhoplodnee, 0.6%; New Aspiration Party, 0.4%. (More at Wikipedia.)
