We got along good with each other, but when we were in public i became increasingly self-conscious about how people were staring and the vibe about the age gap. She did not notice it as much. This led to me being more careful and watching how i acted with her around others. I was not really being myself. Eventually it became an issue/felt weird that i could not completely overcome. Meeting the parents was also out for either of us. Just seemed too weird/afraid of possible negative appraisals.
