elgordo38
My g/f tells me that effective today if you mail a package at the PO you must show your passport and if your Thai your ID card. This is another great step by the government on the war against drugs.

ukrules
I also heard this and saw a notice which was apparently made by the post office. Apparently there's people sending illegal stuff via the post service. Edited June 2, 2015 by ukrules
saakura
If you are sending legitimate stuff, what is the big deal in showing your identity so it can be traced back?

'Papers please'...where have I heard that phrase before ? yes therefor Thai people can show their ID and travelers lack of ID can show their passport. In my country ID cards virtually don't exist, you could show your driving license or if you don't have one you would also need your passport even inside the country. noahvail
The posting certainly appears to be on ThaiPost letterhead, with a start date of today, June 2. This wouldn't be the first time that info has been released to the public before being given to the workers. As for it fighting the war on drugs, well... Tywais
A post in non-English language removed. Just asked my wife and she says it's been that way for a long time already in that she has to show ID for parcel mailing.
