I'm using Windows 7 and get automatic Windows updates and fixes.

A day or two ago I got a notice that I could upgrade to Windows 10. No charge.

Don't really know anything about Windows 10 and hesitate to do something that might radically change the operating system or create incompatibility issues... as well as being somewhat suspicious at the thought of MS being generous.

Anyone know if this is a painless process for the better or if Windows 10 is like some other O/S upgrades that were worse than the ones they replaced?
